I didn't quite understand everything I read, but didn't the new GB open up itself a bit more in this area with the latest version? I think I might stay on GB for quite awhile before jumping to Logic.
I was looking at the Akai MPK Mini and the Axiom Mini. I'm interested in the other features as well and any other options. Also, I'm willing to step up that budget a bit as well.
I was also looking at the Ci2+ as even though that's Cubase centric, most of the controls could still be mapped right? It even has a footpedal option to punch in and out. I know it's not that great of hardware, but those aspects and the low price I found of 130 are making it compelling. I can't see why other interfaces don't have those types of features or why the DAW makers can't put out a simple control surface that's inexpensive. I think Presonus is the only one to do this?
I was also looking at something like the NanoKontrol2, but since I want a midi controller with pads anyhow it seems like buying that would be a bit redundant? Do the Akai MPD units do this type of thing as well?
What about the control app? Is that iPad only and not iPhone? What's the oldest iPad I could get that would be worthwhile if that's the best route?
I'm just trying to cover the most ground with the least amount of finances while still trying to get something worthwhile and spend where it makes the most sense.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
